I'm Brittany β a certified dog trainer in Columbus, Ohio, helping pups and their people become the best version of their team. From puppy training and puppy obedience training to service dog work, we build confidence, communication, and lasting results.

I've spent almost a decade studying how dogs learn, why they struggle, and what makes the partnership between a person and their pup truly click. I started Brittany's K9 Training LLC because every dog deserves a trainer who shows up for them - and every family deserves a calmer, happier household. Puppy training and puppy obedience training are some of my favorite work: getting in early, building the foundation right, and giving Columbus families a head start they'll feel for years.
Certified by the National K9 School for Dog Trainersβ one of the country's most respected, hands-on training programs.
β and proud of it.Whether you're starting from βsitβ or chasing a service-dog title, there's a path that's just right for you and your dog.

Brittany's K9 Training offers certified puppy training and puppy obedience training designed around the way puppies actually learn β short, focused sessions, real-life environments, and a plan that fits your household. Whether you want in-home puppy lessons, a small-group puppy class, or an immersive puppy board & train, we'll meet your pup right where they are.
Every puppy training plan is custom-built, but most cover the same foundation skills β the ones that turn a wild eight-week-old into a dog you actually enjoy living with.
Puppies can start formal puppy obedience training as early as 8 weeks old. We work with brand-new puppies, the gangly four-month-old phase, and the βteenagerβ six-to-twelve-month stretch where good habits often start to wobble. It is never too early β and almost never too late β to start.
Group puppy classes typically wait until your puppy has had their second round of vaccinations. In-home puppy training and our 5-day puppy board & train can usually start sooner, since we're working in controlled environments.
What your puppy practices in the first months becomes their adult default. Starting puppy obedience training early means we're shaping behavior on purpose instead of fixing it later.
Between roughly 8 and 16 weeks, puppies form lifelong associations with the world. Structured, safe socialization during this window helps prevent reactivity and fear later on.
Potty training, crate skills, and impulse control aren't just obedience β they're the bedrock of a household that actually enjoys having a puppy around.
We bring puppy training and puppy obedience training to families across the greater Columbus area β including:

We work in real environments, week by week, until your dog (and you) feel confident.
Every dog is different, so most programs are tailored β from first-time puppy training and puppy obedience training through advanced and service-dog work. No two dogs are the exact same, so pricing may vary β reach out for an exact quote.
βBrittany worked with us and our 5-month-old puppy for a six-week session - our puppy has learned so much, and so have we. She's very knowledgeable, very positive, and has a flexible schedule to come to our house for training. I would HIGHLY recommend Brittany to train any dog!β
βBrittany is an incredible trainer! She is knowledgeable and patient, with both the dog(s) and owners. She trained my German Shepherd and was able to teach me how to continue training the good behaviors on my own, which is so important. I'd recommend her to anyone seeking dog training, for any reason!β
βBrittany has helped our two huskies in so many ways - pulling and manners on walks, fears of the car (really fears of everything), excessive digging, and greeting guests. She turned our two high-maintenance girls into some of the calmest pups.β
Puppy training and puppy obedience training can start as early as 8 weeks old - and honestly, the earlier the better. The first few months are when your puppy is forming lifelong habits and social associations, so any structured training during that window pays off for years. We work with brand-new puppies, the gangly four-month-olds, and the 'teenage' six-to-twelve-month phase too.
I tend to use them interchangeably, but here's the nuance I work with: 'puppy training' is the umbrella - potty training, crate manners, socialization, nipping, jumping, the whole life-with-a-puppy package. 'Puppy obedience training' is the focused skill-building piece inside that: sit, down, stay, come, leave it, loose-leash walking. Every puppy program I run blends both, because they reinforce each other.
Yes - puppy training is one of my specialties. I offer in-home puppy training across Columbus and the surrounding suburbs, small-group puppy classes, and a 5-day Puppy Board & Train for owners who want a head start on foundation skills. Group puppy classes typically begin after your puppy's second round of vaccinations.
Everyone! Puppies as young as 8 weeks all the way through senior dogs. Old dogs absolutely can learn new tricks - sometimes faster than the puppies, even.
Yes, I work with reactive dogs and some aggressive cases depending on severity. Every dog is different, so I assess each case individually to make sure it's a good fit.
Primarily reward-based and balanced - meaning we reinforce what we love and clearly communicate what we don't. Every dog is an individual, and I tailor methods to the dog in front of me.
Most owners begin seeing progress after the first lesson. If changes are not noticeable right away, improvement is typically seen within the next few lessons. Every dog progresses at their own pace, and results can vary based on the dog, training goals, and consistency outside of sessions.
There is no federally-recognized 'certification' in the US, but I do offer service-dog task training and public-access readiness. We'll discuss your needs in a free consult.
